Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Homeland | said his party would evaluate the implementation of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) Transition if the positive cases of Covid-19 in Jakarta increase again.
“We are going to look at the data, the facts. For that we ask the public to be obedient, obedient and disciplined in the implementation of health protocols,” Riza said when contacted on Tuesday (11/17).
The implementation of Large Scale Transitional Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Jakarta has recently been in the spotlight. This is because the DKI Jakarta provincial government is believed to have allowed the Rizieq Shihab crowd to gather without implementing health protocols.
Inevitably, various parties then requested that the transitional PSBB be revoked, because there were many violations and it did not work effectively.
However, on the other hand, according to Riza, there are not a few parties that demand that the provincial government of DKI Jakarta re-toughen the PSBB. Related to this, Riza said that the decision on the PSBB cannot be made hastily.
“We look at the numbers, the facts and the data to convince ourselves of what policies we should take,” Riza said.
“So far, the recovery rate has continued to increase by 92.2 percent, the death rate is 2.1 percent, and so on,” he added.
Not only that, according to Riza, the PSBB’s transition policy is also in line with President Joko Widodo’s instructions, which should prioritize the safety and health of citizens.
“We support that and uphold Pak Jokowi’s policy of putting people’s health first,” he explained.
Following the Rizieq Shihab crowd in Petamburan, central Jakarta, various parties urged that the transitional PSBB be stopped. One of the urgent matters is the volunteer of Dr. Tirta to take care of the prevention of Covid-19.
Tirta considered that DKI Pemprov, including the central government, had double standards because it did not stop or take action against the FPI crowd.
Furthermore, the request for the lifting of the transitional PSBB in Jakarta also came from Visit Wonderful Indonesia (VIWI Board) as an association of 18 national tourism industry associations.
VIWI Board Chairman Hariyadi Sukamdani assessed that the regulations determined by the central and regional governments had quite a few violations. PSBB transition to DKI de facto it doesn’t work as it should.
