DKI Governor Anies Baswedan admits positive Covid-19

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – After testing negative, DKI Governor Anies Baswedan announced that he was positive for Covid-19.

Anies Baswedan confirmed that he had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. Although confirmed positive, Anies will continue to work to lead virtual meetings and conduct independent isolation.

Anies said he tested positive for Covid-19 based on the results of the PCR swab test that was performed early Tuesday (December 1, 2020).

On Monday afternoon (11/30), Anies performed a PCR swab test at DKI Jakarta City Hall. Earlier on Wednesday (11/25), Anies had also performed a routine PCR swab test and at that time the results were negative.

After DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria tested positive for Covid-19, Anies also underwent an antigen swab test on Sunday (11/29/2020) and the results came back negative. Anies admitted that it was intense in meeting with Ariza to have a meeting together.

“After consultation and in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, I will undergo independent isolation and follow the treatment procedures established by the medical team,” he said on Tuesday (12/1/2020).

Currently, Anies continued, all close contacts, both family and office staff, have undergone PCR testing.

“I will do independent isolation in a place separate from my family and will live alone. In the meantime, the family will remain in a private residence,” he said.
