“When the police officers dispersed the mass of the action on Friday (12/18) yesterday, two Pontianak Police officers received unpleasant treatment, in the form of attacks and ill-treatment,” said the head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Donny Charles Go, in Pontianak, Saturday (12/19)) as reported by Between.
The incident started when a mass of people held a demonstration at the intersection of Jalan Tanjung Raya, East Pontianak.
The action, according to Donny, caused traffic jams. There were provocative efforts in action, including burning tires. For this reason, the agents chose to dissolve the action by force.
“Because the action caused traffic obstruction and could become a means of provocation, the agents who were not far from the scene made efforts to extinguish and disperse the masses,” he said.

The officer was immediately rescued and taken to hospital for treatment.
The officers then searched for the perpetrators of the persecution. A young man, RDS (21 years old), suspected of being the author, was arrested.
“Currently, the perpetrators of the beatings and assaults have been secured by officers from the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation of the West Kalimantan Regional Police either at night or shortly after the incident,” Donny said.
RDS is threatened with being subject to article 170 of the Penal Code, sub-article 351 of the Penal Code.
