Bisnis.com, YOGYAKARTA – The president of the Central Executive (PP) of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir delivered to the state the dissolution speech of the mass organization of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) that has recently emerged in the public.

“The state already has a constitution, the state already has laws, the state already has rules, and the state already has the tools,” Haedar Nashir said online during a press conference before Tarjih Muhammadiyah XXXI at PP Muhammadiyah’s office, Yogyakarta, on Monday (11/23/2020).

According to Haedar, the implementation of the constitution, as well as the laws and regulations along with the apparatus they have, are the sole responsibility of the state.

With these various instruments, according to him, the emergence of various actions against the law such as separatist movements, criminal acts and other illicit movements should become the authority of the State to act.

“All kinds of actions that are contrary to the constitution, with legislation, with applicable laws, with applicable regulations and policies, are returned to the state and all its instruments to fulfill its duties and obligations,” said Haedar.

According to Haedar, Muhammadiyah and other religious movements have a duty to preach and spread religious values in life, so that they do not have to burden themselves with matters that have become the responsibility of the state.

“Therefore, everything is returned to the state based on the laws and constitutional regulations, as well as the practices to fulfill its duties and obligations,” he said.

The urgency for the government to disband the FPI was again brought to light with the hashtag #BubarkanFPI, which was trending on Twitter, and before that there was also a statement from TNI Major General of Pangdam Jaya Dudung Abdurachman who said if necessary, the FPI was simply dissolved, after a series of activities that violated the rules carried out by these organizations.
