JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – One of the areas of the National Park that will undergo a significant design change is Rinca Island in West Manggarai Regency, NTT.
The island, which is the habitat of rare Komodo dragons, is planned to be massively transformed by the government and private investors as a premium tourist destination.
Seeing this, many parties expressed their contrary attitudes through social media. Without exception, singer Melanie Subono.
The grandson of President BJ Habibie’s nephew showed his rejection of the project by posting a photo on Instagram that went viral.
In the photo, a Komodo dragon appears near the mouth of the truck transporting project materials.

Melanie also wrote a caption full of satire.
“Before going to bed, let’s reflect … much less what it has not destroyed,” wrote Melanie quoted by Kompas.com on her instagram account, @melaniesubono, on Monday (10/26/2020).
The daughter of Java Musikindo founder Adie Subono also expressed her apologies to Komodo and expressed her frustration with the government.
“Forgive us Komodo dragons … hotels etc. are not your habitat, we are talking about a wall of heartless money. Stone,” Melanie continued.
In a disappointed tone, Melanie also touched on the reincarnation of the rare reptile if the Jurassic Park project was to continue.
“Hopefully the reincarnation (of the project organizer) will be cockroaches later,” he continued.

Komodo Island and Rinca Island are known to have been designated as national parks since 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon or Varanus komodoensis, ancient endemic animals that can only be found in NTT.
However, the Komodo National Park project has now been included in the Strategic Super Priority National Tourism Area (KSPN) in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Until now, the project titled “Jurassic Park” continues to garner controversy and protests from various parties.
