Liverpool –
Diogo Jota recorded his first goal for Liverpool at Anfield. His goal helped Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1.
Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield in the third week of the Premier League, on Monday morning (9/29/2020) WIB. This match also marks Jota’s debut in Anfiled and the English League with the Reds.
Jota was signed by Liverpool this summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Portuguese player had previously been named by Juergen Klopp during Liverpool’s 7-2 win at Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.
Jota appeared in the game against Arsenal from minute 80 after replacing Sadio Mane. When the 23-year-old entered the field, Liverpool had a 2-1 lead.
Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson created two goals for the Reds. Meanwhile, the Gunners took one out through Alexandre Lacazette.
Jota did not waste this opportunity by scoring a goal with a shot measured from outside the penalty area in the 88th minute. Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno did not even react when he saw his goal break with a shot from the Massarelos-born.
Jota’s first goal for Liverpool sealed Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal. Jota is very happy with this incision.
However, he was a bit disappointed not being able to celebrate his historic goal with Liverpool fans at Anfield. This is because the match is still taking place with no spectators affected by COVID-19.
“It’s an extraordinary feeling. I just hope this happens with a full stadium. However, I still feel happy to be able to close the team’s victory and achieve good results,” said Jota. BBC.
“In football sometimes you score goals, sometimes you miss a shot. You have to believe that you’re going to score goals and luckily I did,” he said.
