BLITAR, KOMPAS.com – A nurse from the Ngudi Waluyo Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Blitar Regency, East Java, Erny Kusuma Sukma Dewi, died of Covid-19.
Ngudi Waluyo Hospital President Director Endah Woro Utami said Erny died eight days after testing positive for Covid-19. Obesity is believed to be a factor in Erny’s condition.
Woro said the 33-year-old nurse had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on January 28.
“The temperature is normal, there is no history of illness, he is young, so he is healthy (before being vaccinated,” Woro said when confirmed, on Sunday (2/21/2021).
On February 6, Erny was rushed to the hospital with a fever and shortness of breath.

Erny underwent a test swab by method Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and tested positive for Covid-19.
Woro cannot confirm where Erny contracted Covid-19. Despite working in an isolation ward for Covid-19 patients, none of Erny’s colleagues tested positive for corona.
He suspected that Erny didn’t catch it from work. However, he said, Erny had left town after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
“But after being vaccinated he had time to go (out of town). So we don’t know where from because none of his friends around him tested positive and was disciplined for using hazardous materials while working in the service,” Woro explained.
Erny, he said, was suspected of contracting it while traveling out of town. Although you have been vaccinated, the antibodies in your body are not yet fully formed.
Erny has worked for 11 years at Ngudi Waluyo Hospital. When he died, he was a contract worker since 2016.

based on tracking, Erny’s husband is positive for Covid-19 with no symptoms.
The first dose of vaccination in the district has reached 2,895 doctors. As of Saturday (2/20/2021) the second dose of vaccination had been administered to 2,530 recipients.
4,232 positive cases of Covid-19 were registered in Blitar Regency as of Saturday (2/20/2021). Of that number, there were 359 deaths and 234 active cases.
