ISLAMABAD, KOMPAS.TV – Massive protests broke out in Pakistan over reruns of the cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad from the French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

The protests took place in Rawalpindi, Pakistan from Thursday (9/3/2020) to Friday (9/4/2020) local time.

The demonstration continued even in the Lahore region and the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

As quoted from RT, the protesters burned the French flag. They even yelled, “stop barking, French dog,” angrily.

French President Emmanuele Macron was impressed by protecting Charlie Hebdo’s actions, which he said were part of France’s exalted freedom.

Charlie Hebdo’s decision to reissue the Prophet Muhammad card has been met with strong opposition from several Islamic countries.
