Real Sociedad managed to win the Copa del Rey 2019/20. David Silva et al have the status of champion after defeating their rival, Athletic de Bilbao, 1-0.

The Bilbao vs Sociedad match that was held at the La Cartuja Stadium, Seville, on Sunday (4/4/2021) early in the morning WIB was the last match that was supposed to be played in April last year, but it was delayed due to COVID-19.

The two teams at the time agreed to postpone the schedule because they hoped the pandemic could be overcome. In this way, the final match, entitled the Basque Derby, can be played in front of the fans.

However, it seems that the COVID-19 pandemic in the world has not ended until now, even in Spain. So this match will continue to be held without spectators. Even so, the match was still tight.

Although Bilbao lost possession of the ball (43% compared to 57%), Iker Muniain et al managed to register two shots on goal, against one from the Company. Ironically for Bilbao, a shot on goal by the Society was enough to take them to the championship.

In the 58th minute, Sociedad scored a penalty after Íñigo Martínez raped Cristian Portu. Martinez received a red card, but the referee turned it yellow after checking the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Even so, sanctions continued to be imposed. Mikel Oyarzabal, who stepped up as a kicker, beat Unai Simon. The 1-0 scoreline lasted until the game ended.
