Jakarta –
Lately, people have been busy complaining about the significant increase in electricity bills. Some even claim that the increase in electricity bills has reached three times the usual average.
As experienced by a PLN client named Dyah Rosmalawati who yesterday shared his experience with AFP. According to Dyah, the sudden increases in the electricity bill made no sense.
“The increase does not make my logic, it may be three times greater, from April to Rp. 200 thousand, but in May it will be Rp. 750 thousand,” said Dyah AFP, Monday (4/5/2020).
In response to the complaint, the UP3 Ciputat PLN went directly to Dyah’s house and explained the cause of the increase in Dyah’s electricity bill.
Ciputat Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Sigit Arimurti said that PLN had verified the PLN calculation system and that the results were in accordance with the results of the foot meter registration at the customer’s home.
“The calculation system and the results of the meter’s registration officers are in agreement. There is an additional power of 450 to 1300 VA that makes a 3-month average (January-March) for April bills less than realization of the kWh meter used by the customer. The difference is then what causes a sudden increase, “Sigit said in the official statement received AFP, Tuesday (5/5/2020).
According to PLN Ciputat’s explanation to Dyah, the increase in electricity bills it experienced happened because, in fact, there were no PLN employees who came directly to verify their electricity bills. Instead, the calculation is based on the average use of electricity during the last 3 months.
“For the May bill, it was explained that it was calculated from the April bill that was pending due to PSBB. PLN officials did not verify why the PSBB was calculated in April based on the January, February average and March. Well, “In May, my bill was included in April,” Dyah said.
In addition to receiving explanations related to the cause of the increase in electricity bills, the Ciputat PLN also explained how to verify the independent electricity bills that can be made through their respective mobile phones.
“Later, the Ciputat PLN team also explained to me about mobile PLNs that can now be accessed on mobile phones for bills and others,” he added.
So how do I calculate the average electricity consumption in the last 3 months?
