Current situation of Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters following Rizieq Shihab’s determination as a suspect

KOMPAS.TV – Rizieq Shihab has been named a suspect in a case of alleged incitement and violation of health protocols in the health quarantine law.

Rizieq was named a suspect along with Haris Ubaidillah, Ali Alwi Alatas, Mamas Suryadi, Ahmad Sabid Lubis and Idrus.

Following their determination as a suspect, the police also banned Rizieq and the five for the next 20 days and were banned from traveling outside of Indonesia.

“Investigators have also written a letter to Muhammad Rizieq Shihab Kemenkumham within 20 days, the other suspects are on December 7, 2020,” said the head of public relations, chief of police headquarters, Inspector General Pol Argo Yuwono.

On the same occasion, the Kapolda Metro Jaya emphasized that the police would arrest the suspects and then undergo legal process.

Previously, the researchers had made a case title to complete the evidence and chronology of the events that sparked crowds in various locations.

With the appointment of Rizieq Shihab as a suspect, the police will use the power of attempts by force, whether in the form of subpoenas or arrests.

FPI’s attorney, Yanuar Aziz, said early on that he predicted that Rizieq Shihab would be named a suspect.

Today (10/12/2020), Rizieq Shihab was also summoned by the West Java Regional Police, in connection with the crowd case in Megamendung, Bogor Regency.

Rizieq will be questioned by the police for attending activities deemed to have violated health protocols.

However, Rizieq was not present, citing fatigue and recovering.
