Covid-19 spokesperson: enough reagents for next month

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Covid-19 government spokesman Handling Achmad Yurianto said the supply of reagents for Covid-19 real-time PCR inspection was still sufficient for next month.

“We are grateful that the existing conditions have made us anticipate for at least the next month,” Achmad Yurianto said Monday (04/04/2020).

He said reagents are needed for massive real-time PCR testing in the community. This is as stated by President Jokowi, who requested to perform tests on massive samples to identify Covid-19 positive patients.

“To carry out this massive effort, we can bring in reagents for real-time PCR inspection that we must import from abroad,” he explained.

Yurianto also mentioned that, of the 89 laboratories used for real-time PCR testing, its inventory had to be fully operational.

“Yesterday we were also grateful to have received a cartridge to be used in TCM machines, rapid molecular testing,” he said.

Yurianto explained that the party had brought 1,500 cartridges. Initially, the plan was to carry 172,000 cartridges in the first stage.
