Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Rasyid Baswedan threatened to pull the emergency brake again, also known as tightening large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the event of an increase in Covid-19 cases in the capital.

“In this case, as is well known, the DKI Jakarta provincial government can re-implement the emergency braking policy. This means that if there is an alarming level of transmission, the DKI Jakarta provincial government can stop all activities that have been opened during the transition period of the PSBB and re-implement the adjustment, “said DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Sunday (10/25).

The tightening of the PSBB will have an impact on limiting most business activities, from offices, entertainment venues to restaurants. This is cause for concern because the turnover of the business world will drop significantly if you adjust PSBB or what is also known as PSBB Total.

On this day, Anies Baswedan again extended the PSBB Transitional Period Restriction towards a healthy, safe and productive society for 14 days, from October 26 to November 8, 2020. This in accordance with the Decree of the Governor of the DKI Jakarta Province Number 1020 of 2020.

In this decision, if there is no significant increase in cases during the extension of the PSBB for this Transitional Period, based on the results of the monitoring and evaluation of the COVID-19 Management Acceleration Working Group at the Provincial level, the extension will continue for the next 14 days. However, if there is a significant increase in cases, the implementation of this transition PSBB can be stopped.

If you look at the movement of the COVID-19 situation in DKI Jakarta in the last two weeks, the transmission has been relatively on the slope, marked by the average percentage of positive cases in the last week at 9.9% with a test rate of 5.8 per 1000 inhabitants in the last week. Additionally, the median fill of the insulation bed in the past two weeks tended to decrease from 64% on October 12, 2020 to 59% on October 24, 2020.

ICU bed filling also decreased relatively from 68% on October 12, 2020 to 62% on October 24, 2020. The FKM UI COVID-19 control indicator, which had decreased last week, from a score of 60 (October 18, 2020) has improved to a score of 64 (October 24, 2020). The effective reproductive value, which is also an indication of the presence or absence of transmission, has a score of 1.05 (October 24, 2020), compared to a score of 1.06 on October 12, 2020.

To maintain and control the COVID-19 situation in DKI Jakarta, of course, requires the active participation of the entire community by disciplining the behaviors of the health protocol, namely # wearing a mask, # keeping your distance and often #cucitangan.

This is because, based on the results of 3M behavioral observations conducted by the UNICEF FKM team at DKI Jakarta, there was a 75% decrease in compliance trend of mask-wearing behavior (October 12, 2020) to 71% (October 24, 2020) and compliance with maintaining the distance from 75.% (October 12, 2020) to 73% (October 24, 2020). However, there was an improvement in hand washing behavior from 39% (October 12, 2020) to 43% (October 24, 2020).
