The Indonesian U19 team only brought 24 players from Jakarta to Spain. Up to three players were reported to have reacted to COVID-19, thus falling behind.

All three players underwent a hyssop test on Thursday (12/24/2020) and the results came out on Friday (12/25/2020) or one day before leaving for Spain. The three players whose names are being kept secret by PSSI are currently in independent isolation. The PSSI medical team will monitor them during their isolation until they test negative.

Garuda Muda’s entourage has left Jakarta to depart for Spain on Saturday (12/26/2020). There should be 30 players leaving, with details of 27 players from Jakarta and three players from abroad. The three players who will follow from abroad are Witan Sulaeman, Elkan Baggott and Kelana Mahessa.

“They are reactive and we do not dare to take risks and we still ask the team doctor to be healthy there (Spain),” said Yunus Nusi as acting secretary general of the PSSI Working Group (Plt) about the three players that remain in Jakarta.

The three reactive players are still expected to follow Matador’s country. However, they will only fly to Spain if they are confirmed negative for COVID-19.

“We also have to make sure that the two here are not carriers of the virus there (Spain) and there are in good health,” said Yunus Nusi.

“At the moment these three players remain isolated, but they are directly under the auspices of our medical team,” he said.

The U19 team is still leaving for Spain despite the fact that FIFA has postponed the 2021 U-20 World Cup in Indonesia until 2023. Training in Spain until the end of January 2021 will serve as preparation for the U-19 Asian Cup which will be held on March 3-20 next year in Uzbekistan.
