BOGOR DISTRICT, KOMPAS.com – The Bogor Police will convene the parties involved in the case of disposal of infectious or dangerous and toxic medical materials (B3) from the hotel where the isolation of Covid-19 patients without symptoms or OTG is located in the city of Tangerang.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Harun said the involvement of the Tangerang (Pemkot) city government was related to supervision and also the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the hotel with the initials PPH.

This is because the hotel company has transferred the management of medical waste to unauthorized third parties or not to the official B3 waste manager, which is none other than the laundry manager.

“Certainly (the Tangerang City Government will take action), because we need to check whether the cooperation (MoU) is correct, true or not, if the payment is true, it could go in another direction (the suspect),” he said. Harun when he was received by Kompas.com after conducting Covid.19 vaccination at Cimandala Health Center, Sukaraja, Bogor Regency, Thursday (11/2/2021).

In fact, Harun said, the 4-star hotel previously collaborated with PT AP to manage its medical waste.

In cooperation with the hotel company, he was awarded a Rs 10 million contract for transportation with PT AP.

However, along the way, the hotel could no longer afford it due to PT AP’s high cost of processing waste. The reason for the hotel, Harun said, is cost savings.

The hotel maintains that it is profitable, the police: although it is already profitable …

They finally changed their cooperation with a laundry company with the initials US because the cost is much cheaper, only Rp.1 million per transport with 2 closed box wagons.

However, Harun said, the police found clues that the hotel company was apparently only seeking profit from the Tangerang municipal government budget.

“Now, they are so greedy that the hotel uses a laundry service that does not have any specification for waste management. Imagine Rp. 830 million per 14-day budget from the Tangerang city government budget for the cost of isolating. Covid-19 patients in this hotel, that’s very lucky, “he said.

“If normal hotel prices, fortunately, are not that high, but this hotel really wants to make a high profit again by breaking cooperation with waste manager B3 with an incompetent laundry company and dumping it in Bogor Regency,” he added. Also read: Regarding medical waste in Bogor Regency, the Mayor of Tangerang is ready to give clarification

Laundry party

Based on this evidence, Harun continued, it is possible that other suspects could be named, both from the hotel in collaboration with the Tangerang city government and from the laundry, who are currently pursuing two drivers.

Harun explained that the police are currently investigating several witnesses to determine other suspects from the hotel, laundry and Tangerang city government officials.

“Definitely, all related parties will be acted upon, it is not possible to just wash clothes, it could be a hotel, all related parties (Tangerang City Government), when the evidence is fulfilled, we will definitely suspect it,” he explained.

Suspects will be subject to Article 40 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 18 of 2008 on Waste Management and Article 104 Jo Number 60 and the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management.
