JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The coordinating minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that the corona virus (Covid-19) vaccine will begin to be injected to the public this year, no later than 2021.
“I think after Covid, we believe that this vaccine can be injected this year and next year it will be even better,” he said at the signing ceremony of a collaborative investment agreement with FMG founder Andrew Forest, who went physical and virtually broadcast on Friday (4/9/2020).
On the other hand, Luhut said, the corona virus outbreak could trigger changes in Indonesia for the better.

“Covid-19 is very scary for everyone, but also a blessing for us. Because we can do many things to carry out reforms from health, energy and many other things, “he said.
Previously, the executive director of the Covid-19 Response Committee and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN), Erick Thohir, made sure that the Covid-19 vaccine was ready for use in early 2021.
Erick said, the first prioritized immunization vaccine for healthcare workers, ranging from doctors, nurses to midwives. This was stated by Erick Thohir after coordinating with the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) and the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) at the Ministry Office BUMN, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/9/2020).
Erick said that, from the results of the mapping provided by IDI and PPNI, it was recorded that there were 1.5 million health workers, both doctors, nurses and midwives, ready to be deployed during the mass immunization scheduled for the beginning of 2021, including TNI and Polri.
