Covid-19 is like a photocopy, the longer the symptoms, the less

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The acting director (Plt), the director general of Health Services of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Abdul Kadir, compared the Covid-19 pandemic to a photocopying process.

When a text is photocopied for the first time, the results are clearly legible. Meanwhile, if the photocopy is made repeatedly, the text will be even more illegible.

The same thing happened with Covid-19, when it first appeared, the virus was so cruel. But gradually the symptoms became less visible.

“At first, Covid was very cruel, but the symptoms are less and less,” Kadir said in a virtual discussion on Tuesday (1/9/2020).

“Just like we photocopied, when you photocopied for the first time it was still clear, after a while the letters became more blurry, eventually there were no more letters,” he continued.

Kadir said that currently many patients have tested positive for Covid-19 but are not ill or have no symptoms.

Therefore, he actually asked the public not to be too afraid of the Covid-19 stigma.

Kadir also called on the public to remove the stigmatization of Covid-19 and replace it with pain and pain.

“The positive stigma is that we shouldn’t be too scared of positivity because even positivity doesn’t mean we’re sick,” he said.

In Indonesia itself, Kadir said, the cure rate for Covid-19 patients continues to rise.

The number of recovered patients is much greater than the number of patients who died.

For this reason, while paying attention to health protocols, i.e. wearing masks, keeping distance, and diligently washing hands, Kadir is confident that people can carry out activities as usual.

“So now go ahead and do your normal activities, which is important to follow health protocols,” he said.
