KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government would increase the number of beds available, both in the hospital ward and in the ICU.

This, he said, was done to overcome the peak of positive cases during the long Christmas and New Year holidays.

“By the way, the place is there, we just need to increase the number of beds and the ICU. There is the possibility of up to 100 additional beds,” Budi said at his press conference on Friday (12/25/2020).

Budi said the actual number of rooms to increase bed capacity for Covid-19 patients was sufficient. However, what needs to be increased is the number of patient nurses.

“So I have talked to the vice minister (vice minister) who is really a doctor, how can we immediately assign additional nurses,” he said.

“Because the number of doctors is enough, the number of medical devices is enough, the number of doctors is enough, the rooms can also add up to 100, but we need nurses,” he said.

In December, there are several long vacation moments. The holidays start from December 24 to 27, 2020, which is Christmas.

Meanwhile, from December 28 to 30, 2020 there is no public holiday, so the community is obliged to continue working as usual. Then, he said, the Eid al-Fitr replacement holiday was set on December 31, 2020.

New Years holidays are set on January 1, 2021 and added from January 2-3, 2021, which is a weekend holiday because it falls from Saturday to Sunday. (Sania mashabi)
