JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has requested a limited area quarantine in the context of Covid-19 management that will apply to the scope of RT and RW.
This is one of the efforts to deal with Covid-19 in the country, which has reached one million, specifically 1,012,350 people on Tuesday (1/26/2021).
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said that President Jokowi called on relevant ministers to make changes in strategies and approaches so that the management of Covid-19 works better.
“One of the special steps requested by the president in handling Covid-19 at this time is to quarantine areas limited to the micro level within the RT and RW,” Muhadjir said, quoted in a press release, on Wednesday (27 / 1/2021).

Muhadjir said that a limited quarantine would be carried out to investigate cases in one area and separate people who were positive for Covid-19 by conducting independent isolation or collective isolation.
Muhadjir said the limited technical quarantine will still be discussed further.
“(Technically) we will continue to regulate. In fact, the president has ordered a limited quarantine, then self-isolation, and if it is not possible to carry out a centralized collective isolation,” he said.
According to him, improvements and evaluations at the upstream level should continue to be carried out with the current number of cases.
Mainly, when carrying out a limited quarantine, test trace trace (3T), 3M health protocols and treatment of patients with Covid-19.

In addition, another step that the central government is taking is the allocation of beds for patients with Covid-19.
According to him, so far most hospitals have not been optimal in allocating beds and treatment rooms for Covid-19 patients.
Health Minister (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin, he said, had delivered a circular to the hospital to relax the allocation of beds for Covid-19 patients.
“Because it turns out that most hospitals, including government hospitals, have only provided less than 15 percent bed for Covid-19 patients, so there has been a circular from the Minister of Health, on how it is enforced, “he said.
As of Tuesday (1/26/2021), Covid-19 cases in the country had reached 1,012,350 based on the addition of 13,094 people.
