Corona vaccine volunteer dies in Brazil

Media reports said the volunteer was a 28-year-old doctor working treating Covid-19 patients in emergency rooms and intensive care units at two Rio de Janeiro hospitals.

This is the first reported death in a series of Covid-19 vaccine trials that are taking place around the world.


“Based on major medical incidents, both participants in the control group and the Covid-19 vaccine group were independently reviewed,” the Oxford side wrote, citing AFP.

In a statement, the Oxford party said the results of an independent review concluded that there were no safety concerns or testing of the vaccine. In other words, Oxford and AstraZeneca will continue their clinical trials.

“After careful evaluation of death cases in Brazil, there is no concern for the safety of clinical trials and an independent review other than the government recommended that trials continue,” he wrote again.

So far, some 8,000 volunteers have participated in clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine in Brazil, half of which are involved in end-stage clinical trials. Around the world, there are currently 20 thousand volunteers for the clinical trial of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Brazilian newspaper, Balloon He reported that the volunteers who died were young doctors who had just completed their medical studies last year. Before contracting the crown, it was known that he was healthy and was still working.

In September, Oxford and AstraZeneca had to temporarily suspend vaccine testing after a volunteer in the UK became mysteriously ill.
