Adding positive cases COVID-19 of DKI Jakarta broke a record by reaching 1,899 on Saturday (2/19). DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office claims the increase in positive cases is due to a new lab reporting data for a week.
“The total sum of positive cases was 1,899 cases because there was accumulated data of 703 cases from 1 laboratory of the BUMN Hospital, the last 7 days have just been reported,” said the Head of the Division of Disease Prevention and Control of the Office of DKI Jakarta Health, Dwi Oktavia, in a written statement, on Saturday (19/12).
Collectively, the Covid-19 cases in DKI Jakarta are the largest in the province. According to data from the Covid-19 Working Group, there are 161,519 positive cases in the capital, of which 13,385 are active cases that still need treatment.

The addition of positive cases in DKI Jakarta previously reached a record of 1,690 on Thursday (12/17), surpassing the previous record on November 21 of 1,579 cases. The average number of additional positive cases in DKI Jakarta is still over 1,000.
In the last week, the average increase in positive cases in DKI Jakarta is around 1,474 cases. The details are as of December 13, 1,298, December 14, 1,566, December 15, 1,057, December 16, 1,221, December 17, 1,690, December 18, 1,587, and December 19, 1,899.
Meanwhile, the occupancy rate of Covid-19 referral hospital beds in Jakarta has risen to 80 percent.
According to data from the provincial government of DKI Jakarta, as of December 13, the occupancy rate of 98 Covid-19 referral hospitals in Jakarta was 20 percent of the total 6,509 beds.
Currently, 80 percent of beds are occupied with 5,185 patients still in isolation.
For bed availability, the ICU ward is up to 73 percent full. Jakarta itself has prepared 893 ICU beds for Covid-19 patients with severe symptoms.
Currently, the total number of ICU patients reaches 655 people. Thus, only 238 ICU beds remain in Covid’s referral hospital.
