Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Positive confirmation cases of Covid-19 in DKI Jakarta in the last week have increased significantly. In fact, today Sunday (8/30/2020), the number of positive cases reached 1,114.

This amount is an accumulation from the previous week that was just reported. Most of them were exposed to Covid-19 during the long vacations of August 16-22, 2020.

The head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the DKI Provincial Health Office in Jakarta, Dwi Oktavia, said that 70% of the positive cases today were cases taken from samples on August 24 and 25, 2020.

“The effect of the long weekend is 2 weeks in a row. There needs to be vigilance and joint efforts, both from the government and the community, to see the growing trend in this case,” he said in a written statement on Sunday (30 / 08/2020).

In addition, Dwi said that the addition of cases today, 57% of them or up to 630 new cases were the result of the Puskesmas trace, which examined the close contacts of positive patients.

The tracing rate at DKI Jakarta is currently 6. That means that out of 1 positive case, an average of 6 close contacts will be tested for PCR. Meanwhile, from the active case search carried out by Puskesmas, 6 new cases were found. Meanwhile, from passive case finding in hospitals and clinics, 478 new cases were found.

Although the trend of positive cases is increasing daily, the daily death rate (Case Fatal Rate or CFR) is decreasing, that is, as of August 30, 2020, the CFR in DKI Jakarta is 3%.

The number of active cases, which had increased in July and early August, began to show a slowdown and a decrease, that is, until August 30, 2020, to 7,960 people. This was followed by the recovery rate, which continued to increase to 76.7%.

“We in the DKI Jakarta provincial government will continue to conduct testing, tracking and treatment in the management of this outbreak. However, the public must also understand that to really resolve this, we must stick together,” Dwi said.
