JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The president of the PDI-P, Megawati Soekarnoputri, explained the meaning of her question about the contribution of the millennial generation to a country that has been speaking these days.

Megawati agrees with many successful young people, but according to her, these successes often do not benefit others.

“I asked him, Millennials are dedicated to the country. Not individually. I know a lot of young people are successful, but they are entrepreneurs. “What is your contribution to this nation and country? It is just a demonstration,” Megawati said.

This immediately prompted several public responses.

The National League of Students for Democracy-National Council (LMND-DN) called on Megawati not to demean the political attitudes of the young protesters.

LMND-DN president Muhammad Arira Fitra said that Mega and the party he leads should conduct a self-assessment.

“Megawati did not come to the millennial demonstrations,” Arira said on Friday (10/30/2020).

Arira emphasized that the participation of millennials in the demonstrations was a response to the government’s failure to replace the state.

“Mass action is a political stance adopted by millennials in response to the ineffectiveness of the regime in managing the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the general secretary of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, tried to explain the meaning of Mega’s statement.
