JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The German Embassy (Embassy) clarified the arrival of a staff member at the headquarters of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) in Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
In a written statement from the German Embassy, his party expressed regret at the impression created by his staff’s visit to the FPI headquarters.
“The German Embassy regrets the impression this incident has created in the eyes of the public and our Indonesian partners. According to the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Head of the Representative of the German Embassy said that the presence of the personnel of the German Embassy in the place was by personal initiative, without receiving orders or knowledge of the leaders of the German Embassy .
For this incident, the Chief Representative of the German Embassy expressed his apologies and regrets the incident.
The Head of the Representative Office of the German Embassy also denied the content of several statements made by one of the FPI leaders.
