Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
All Indonesia Student Executive Board Alliance (GOOD YES) urged the president Joko widodo to make government regulations instead of laws (Perppu) to repeal Law of the ombibus Job Creation Law.
The demand was again voiced today at a rally in Patung Kuda, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/20). The masses of action consider that the ratification of this law has procedural flaws and contains problems in several articles.
Therefore, if the demands were not heeded, the students threatened to create a national crisis. This ultimatum was relayed by the students because Jokowi did not meet at the rally this time.
“If we cannot do this within 8×24 hours, we will make sure that a large student movement creates a national urgency right on Youth Engagement Day,” said the BEM SI Coordinator at the scene of the action.
The students emphasized that the government should focus on dealing with the worsening Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of doing that, the government, according to the students, maneuvered politically by passing the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law.
Students have taken to the streets time and again to reject the law. Through prayer, the students also emphasized that the basis for conveying these aspirations is armed with people’s unrest, not misinformation as the government calls it.
“President Joko Widodo responded to this action by stating that what the public had said about the Job Creation Law was due to lies,” he said again.

Currently, students are still demonstrating in the Arjunawiwaha statue area in central Jakarta. Initially they wanted to speak at the Palace, but the police had closed access to the road since the morning.
Apart from the students, there were elements of workers who also participated in the demonstration. The entire group has one voice, calling for the repeal of the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law.
