SUKABUMIUPDATE.com – Flash floods hit the Cibuntu area in Pawasawan Village, Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency, on Monday night (9/21/2020). According to reports from residents, the overflow of the Cibuntu River washed away cars, collapsed bridges and broke into residents’ buildings. The victims of the disaster as a result of this heavy rain are still unknown.

Pasawahan Village resident Dede Sahril reported that the flash flood that overflowed the Cibuntu River occurred around 4.30pm WIB or after the Cicurug area of ​​Sukabumi Regency was hit by heavy rains for several hours.

“Cicurug in mourning, flash floods everywhere. In Cibuntu, the bridge collapsed, the building broke down and a car was flooded,” he explained through a short message.

One of the events that residents had recorded was an incident at Cibuntu Village. The flash floods not only closed the road, but also destroyed the multi-story orange building on the side of the road. In another video, residents recorded a four-wheeler being washed away by a flood.

“Those buildings that were demolished were commercial premises that sold meatballs and others. We do not know whose car was that was swept away,” Dede explained.

He added that the overflowing water flow was underneath the collapsed building, running across the road over a bridge that had been lost in the flash floods.

Floods have also been reported in several other locations in the Cicurug district, Sukabumi regency. The editorial team is still trying to find data from regional and hate officials.
