BANTUL, KOMPAS.TV – Popular puppeteer Ki Seno Nugroho died on Tuesday night (03/11/2020) at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Sleman Hospital, Yogyakarta, due to illness.
An atmosphere of grief engulfed the family of the late Ki Seno Nugroho at Gayam Hamlet Funeral Home, Argosari Village, Sedayu District, Bantul Yogyakarta on Wednesday (11/4/2020) morning.
Many people, relatives and friends of Tolan came to express their condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
The late Ki Seno Nugroho died at Sleman’s PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital due to illness.
Previously, the deceased complained of chest pain while biking on Tuesday (03/11/2020) evening.
Some of the people who came to the funeral home were members of the pengrawit group who felt lost at the departure of Ki Seno Nugoroho.
For the Pengrawit family and crew, the deceased is a responsible figure to the family, working hard to continue and preserve the art of the wayang kulit culture as mandated by his parents Ki Suparman, who is also a puppet artist.
Among shadow puppet lovers, the deceased was known as a popular dalang, low-key, entertaining and close to young artists.
His crew was once advised by the deceased to continue popularizing the wayang kulit as a noble cultural heritage of the nation.
He is survived by his wife, three children and a biological mother.
