Chinese ‘gift’ celebrates Hot Biden on date day

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government of the United States (USA) officially changes. Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States replacing his predecessor, Donald Trump.

But relations between the United States and China still appear to be heating up. The Biden administration has criticized China’s sanctions imposed on dozens of American citizens, the former official of former President Donald Trump.

National Security Council spokeswoman Emily Horne said China’s sanctions against Pompeo were “unproductive and cynical.” Also, given the opening day January 20.

“The imposition of these sanctions on inauguration day appears to be an attempt to increase partisan divisions,” Horne said in a statement to Reuters quoted on Friday (1/22/2021).

Those affected by the sanctions include former Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo, former National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and former trade adviser Peter Navarro. There are also former advisers John Bolton and Steve Bannon,

The names of other officials were also included, such as the Minister of Health, Alex Azar. In addition, there are also names of David R. Stilwell, Matthew Pottinger, Keith J. Krach, and Kelly DK Craft.

Chinese authorities have banned former officials and close family members from entering the country. China also restricts companies associated with them to do business in the country.

Bad relations between Washington and Beijing are intensifying under the Trump administration. Both countries have been embroiled in trade wars since 2018, not to mention a host of other issues from Hong Kong, Xinjiang, technology to the South China Sea (LCS).

The American attitude remains the same

Biden’s Foreign Minister Antony Blinken will also continue his tough stance on China. He said at his Senate confirmation hearing that “without a doubt” China was the most important challenge for the United States of any country.

He believes there is a very solid foundation on which to build a bipartisan American policy against Beijing.

Meanwhile, China responded to criticism from the Biden administration and called for better relations between the two countries. Xi Jinping’s country even cited Biden’s inauguration speech.

“I believe that if the two countries work together, the angels … can defeat the forces of evil,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying, citing Biden.
