Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Haris Ubaidillah, chairman of the committee for the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW and the wedding of the daughter of Rizieq Shihab, acknowledged that they received assistance from the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) and the Regional Agency for Disaster Management DKI Jakarta (BPBD).

The attendance was channeled by the two institutions during an event that invited tens of thousands of people to take place in Petamburan, Central Jakarta on Saturday (11/14/2020).

“We don’t have any discussion (on requests for assistance), only BNPB is providing assistance in the form of masks and hand sanitizers. That is an initiative of BNPB,” Haris said when confirmed, on Thursday (11/19/2020).

Additionally, Haris said BNPB and BPBD also led the committee to request health protocols such as keeping distance, wearing masks and washing hands at the event. However, the great enthusiasm of the community could not be avoided, until finally there was an explosion of visitors.

“The mass is beyond our estimates,” Haris said.

The statement on the attendance was transmitted by Haris to the investigators during the interrogation at the Sub-Directorate of State Security (Kamneg) of the General Directorate of Criminal and Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police yesterday. The investigator was interrogated from 10:00 to 00:30 and 37 questions were asked.

Previously, Indonesian police had sent subpoenas to all parties deemed responsible for the crowd at the wedding reception of Rizieq Shihab’s daughter.

One of them is DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and 8 other members of the DKI provincial government who were questioned last Tuesday.

They were asked to clarify about the alleged violation of the health protocol according to the Regional Quarantine Law in an event held by Rizieq Shihab.

Polda Metro Jaya’s Director of General Criminal Investigation, Chief Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat, said these clarifications are still part of the investigative process. The goal, he said, is to find out whether or not there is a criminal act.
