Timo Werner’s search for Chelsea’s first goal continues after the loss to Liverpool. Still, Werner’s performance received praise.
The German bomber kicked off when Chelsea hosted Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (09/21/2020). The Blues forced to admit the superiority of the defending champion with a final score of 0-2.
During the 90 minutes on the field, Werner made 47 touches of the ball and, despite having only one attempt to get away, did not go on target. The striker who arrived from RB Leipzig also threw a key pass.
In the second half, when Chelsea were two goals behind, Werner forced Thiago Alcántara to commit a foul, so the referee signaled the point. Unfortunately, the penalty was not converted into a goal after Alisson saved Jorginho’s execution.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard believes Timo Werner will soon score his first goal. Lampard said he was satisfied with Werner’s start at Chelsea.
