TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The final manuscript of the Job Creation Act has changed again. After the 1,035-page thick manuscript that has been confirmed as the final manuscript has been distributed, the 812-page text is now circulating again.

The Secretary General of the House of Representatives (DPR), Indra Iskandar, confirmed this version of page 812 again. According to Indra, this change occurred because the paper format went from A4 size to legal size.

“Yes, eight hundred and twelve pages. You used A4 format, now you use the legal format, so it is 812 pages,” Indra said when contacted on Monday, October 12, 2020.

Indra said that the manuscript had not been sent to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. However, he did not specify whether the manuscript was ready and completed and signed by the chairmen of the faction group (Kapoksi) of the Corps of Legislation and the leadership of the DPR.

Indra also did not elaborate when asked about the possible change in the substance of this latest manuscript. He invited the government to ask about it. “I can’t talk about the substance, I will just administer it,” Indra said.

Tempo also reviewed the 812-page version of the Works Creation Act. In this last text there are additions between Chapter VIA, Chapter VI and Chapter VII. This chapter regulates the National Fiscal Policy on Taxes and Fees.

This VIA chapter consists of six articles. There are three additional articles, namely article 156A, article 156B and article 159A. Then there is the addition and change of sentences in articles 157 and 158.

On Monday morning, Indra confirmed the 1,035 page thick manuscript said to have been sent to President Jokowi. The manuscript also contains a number of differences from the 905-page text that previously circulated on October 5, 2020.
