Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Similar to DKI Jakarta, the confirmed positive Covid-19 number also increased in five districts and cities of the Central Java province two weeks after the long holidays from October 28 to November 4, 2020.

Marves Luhut B. Pandjaitan’s coordinating minister revealed this at the Covid-19 Covid-19 Coordination Meeting in Central Java (Central Java) that took place virtually on Tuesday (12-01-2020).

“The positive number in Semarang, Kudus, Surakarta, Pati and Kudus has increased somewhat in the past seven days,” explained the Coordinating Minister of Luhut in a written statement on Tuesday (12/01/2020).

He said that, now the city of Semarang has the highest cases in Central Java, with 12,019 cases with the highest death rate of up to 751 people.

Seeing this trend, Coordinating Minister Luhut called on the Central Java provincial government to increase the use of centralized isolation facilities for patients with no symptoms and mild symptoms, so that patients can be optimally monitored.

“As in the athletes’ home, patients with early symptoms and mild symptoms are quickly treated and isolated to prevent serious illnesses that lead to death,” he said.

He worries that if patients who have been confirmed positive are not immediately isolated, they will infect their closest relatives to become family groups.

“Please Pak Ganjar (Governor of Central Java) and the mayor with high cases, immediately increase the centralized self-isolation facility in coordination with BNPB, then they will help with the funds,” Luhut coordinating minister requested.

In addition, he also asked Pangdam Diponegoro and Kapolda for Central Java to assist the Governor of Central Java to carry out a continuous outreach to the public regarding health protocols. “Please also help encourage those affected or positive to go into isolation immediately. Do not be embarrassed,” added coordinating minister Luhut. According to him, this campaign is important so that people do not delay in seeking treatment even if they still have mild symptoms.

In response to this, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said that in the past three days his party would push forward efforts to suppress the spread of the Corona virus, including the addition of a centralized isolation facility.

“In the last three days we have asked for gas including independent insulation because if you don’t feel isolated at home. I ask the regents to look for hotels for independent isolation, we pay, ”he said.

To prevent the Corona virus from spreading further, Governor Ganjar claimed to have asked the Java Central Bureau of Health to continue to conduct ongoing testing, tracking and tracing.

“Together with various associations, we made a movement to enter the house to socialize health protocols and the importance of separate isolation due to the high conglomeration of homes,” he explained.

Regarding the high mortality rate, several Central Java hospital directors revealed that one of the causes was the delay in treating patients. “The patient was admitted to us, the case is very serious and late in the ICU,” said the director of the Kariadi Semarang Hospital, Agoes OP. Representatives from the Temanggung Regional Hospital also mentioned the severity of the patient’s condition when he entered the hospital and the limited space in the ICU to isolate Covid-19 patients.

In response to this, Coordinating Minister Luhut asked Pangdam, Kapolda and the governor to pay attention to what the hospital revealed. “For the Central Health Bureau of Java, check whether the medicine or the hospital treatment. We have to reduce the mortality rate as low as possible, with medicine and experience we should be able to prevent it,” he concluded. Most importantly, the coordinating minister Luhut asked that the treatment of Covid-19 patients not be too late.
