Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Syihab must be quarantined for 14 days according to the regulations of the Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto. The DKI Jakarta provincial government and the central government are throwing themselves at each other regarding the quarantine of Habib Rizieq.
The plane carrying Habib Rizieq from Jeddah’s King Abdul Aziz International Airport landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 08.37 WIB. Habib Rizieq was immediately greeted by his supporters who “whitewashed” Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Habib Rizieq went straight to his car and left Soetta Airport at 09.57 WIB for his residence in Petamburan, central Jakarta.
Before Habib Rizieq’s arrival, the Health Ministry (Kemenkes) had recalled that the 14-day home quarantine rule applies to Habib Rizieq as to other Indonesian citizens abroad.
“Yes, it really applies to anyone (without exception),” said P2P Health Ministry Director General M Budi Hidayat when contacted on Thursday (11/5/2020).
According to Budi, when he arrived in RI, Habib Rizieq, like other Indonesian and foreign nationals from abroad, was forced to perform a negative PCR test.
Budi said that if the results are negative and without any symptoms, Habib Rizieq, according to applicable regulations, is obliged to self-quarantine for 14 days. According to him, the regulation is in accordance with Law No. 6 of 2018 on Sanitary Quarantine.
In response to Habib Rizieq’s quarantine, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria handed over Habib Rizieq’s quarantine to the Central COVID-19 Response Task Force.
Meanwhile, the central level COVID-19 Management Task Force requires the DKI COVID-19 Task Force to monitor Rizieq’s 14-day quarantine.
