TRIBE N-MEDAN.COM, MEDAN – The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, canceled access to air and sea transport to the Nias Islands, in an effort to anticipate the spread of the Corona virus or Covid-19 outbreak.

Even so, Edy emphasized, the civil society that left for the Nias Islands must attach a Covid-19 free certificate, that is, by conducting a rapid test or a swab test.

In addition to carrying a certificate, migrants must independently isolate themselves for two weeks after arriving in Nias.

“After we coordinate, we will tell passengers to isolate the Nias Islands and they must bring a free Covid-19 certificate,” he said, when meeting at Merdeka Square, City Hall, Medan City, on Tuesday (9/15/2020 ).

He said his group was unable to temporarily halt flights or other transportation access to the Nias Islands.

“We cannot retain the aircraft, but the demand is to carry a certificate,” he said.

After holding a meeting with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompinda), the entrance to the Nias Islands will be heavily guarded, with the establishment of an integrated post.

This publication will subsequently monitor the arrival of people, either by land, air and sea routes.

“We have held a coordination meeting with Forkompinda. Later in Nias there will be an integrated post, which will be in charge of the spread of the virus,” he explained.

The former Pangkostrad said the airport and port would continue to operate as usual.
