YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government will provide an opportunity for residents under the age of 45 to carry out activities even though the coronavirus or the Covid-19 pandemic is still occurring in the country.
This was done so that the group did not lose their livelihoods.
“We give this group room to do more activities so we can reduce the potential for exposure to layoffs,” said Doni Monardo, chair of the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force. video conference, Monday (05/11/2020).
Doni said residents 45 and under are not included in vulnerable groups.
Of the total population exposed to Covid-19, the death rate for this group is only 15 percent.

In fact, this group often has no symptoms when exposed to the corona virus.
“Young people under the age of 45 are physically fit, highly mobile, and when exposed they are not necessarily sick because there are no symptoms,” Doni said.
Doni said the highest deaths come from the age group 65 and older, which reached 45 percent.
Then another 40 percent comes from the age group 46-59 years who have congenital diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, lung and heart.
“If we can protect these two vulnerable groups, it means that we can protect our citizens by 85 percent,” Doni said.

Therefore, Doni urged this vulnerable group to stay home and stay away from others.
While non-vulnerable groups or those under 45 years of age have room to carry out more activities.
However, they still need to pay attention to Covid-19’s prevention protocols when doing activities, such as keeping a distance, avoiding crowds, wearing masks, and often washing their hands with soap.
“This is to maintain a balance so that people are not exposed to viruses and not to layoffs,” he said.
