The dismissal of the Chief Inspector General of the Metro Regional Police Jaya (Pol) Nana Sudjana and the Chief Inspector General of the West Java Regional Police (Pol) Rudy Sufahriadi sparked various speculations, including the replacement of the Chief of the National Police.
His removal seemed sudden. It is reasonable to suspect that it is related to the “omission” of the crowd in the Rizieq Shihab program in Petamburan and Megamendung.
The Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis, will be retiring on January 31, 2021. As Idham said during the Bhayangkara anniversary event, the National Police competition will heat up as he enters his retirement.
The President plays a central role in the appointment of the Chief of the National Police. The president will determine who is the chief of police who, based on the president’s assessment, is appropriate and appropriate to lead the Bhayangkara Corps.
The Headquarters of the National Police will have a Wanjakti (Council of Rank and High Position) for the candidate for Chief of the National Police.
Wanjakti could have proposed everyone to Pati Polri with the rank of Komjen and then continued for the Chief of Police.
Apart from the Wanjakti route or the National Police Headquarters, there is still the National Police Commission that also has the authority to consider the candidate for Chief of Police. This is established in Presidential Decree 17/2011.
