The terrible incident experienced by a COVID-19 patient in India.
The patient, a 20-year-old woman, was raped by an ambulance driver on her way to the hospital.
The incident started when the woman was picked up by the state government Kaniv 108 ambulance service in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta district.
The woman was later raped by an ambulance driver named Noufal V on Saturday night (5/9).
This barbarous incident, of course, was immediately criticized by various parties. The police immediately acted quickly and arrested the perpetrator who was hiding in the Pallichira House in Kayamkulam, Alappuzha district the following day.
Noufal is immediately fired by the GVK EMRI company that runs the Kaniv 108 ambulance service.
Health Minister KK Shailaja also criticized the incident.
Hearing this case, Regent Pathanamthitta KG Simon spoke. He explained that the crime occurred when the patient was picked up from his uncle’s residence in Vadakkedathukavu near Adoor to be transferred to a special COVID-19 hospital in Pandalam.
“He was first picked up from his home around 10pm by an ambulance and dropped off at CFLTC, Adoor. From there, Noufal picked him up with another elderly woman who also tested positive for COVID-19. Noufal then dropped off the elderly woman at CFLTC Kozhancheri nearby of Aranmula, “said Simon quoted from indiatimes.com, Tuesday (9/8).
Then Simon told me that Noufal had committed the act of rape in a remote location. Noufal had tried to flee after raping the woman.
“Noufal parked the ambulance in a remote location not far from Aranmula and raped the woman. After committing the crime, Noufal left the woman at CFLTC Pandalam and fled. The woman then reported what happened to hospital staff and then reported to the police, “he said. Simon.
The perpetrator is known to have worked as an ambulance driver at Kaniv 108 for a year. Noufal has apparently been involved in cases of assault and death threats.
