jpnn.com, NICE – The attacker armed with a knife killed two people and wounded several more in a church in the city of Nice, France, on Thursday (10/29) morning.
Mayor Christian Estrosi wrote on Twitter that the knife attack took place at the Notre Dame Basilica and that the police had arrested the perpetrator.
Reporting from the Daily Mail, the perpetrators, who had one person, entered the Catholic church around 9 a.m. local time.
He then beheaded two of the church members and stabbed another.
The perpetrator wounded several people before being shot and arrested by the police.
Now the perpetrators of this brutal act are still in the hospital.
The attack occurred while France was still buoyed by the beheading of a school teacher, Samuel Paty, by a Muslim from Chechnya last October.
The perpetrator admitted that he wanted revenge on Paty for showing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad in a class discussion.
