jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The separatist figures in Papua are not considered to contribute to the well-being of the population of the eastern tip of Indonesia. United Liberation Movement of West Papua (ULMWP) leader Benny Wenda and several other figures do not even live in Papua.

Parahyangan University conflict resolution expert I Nyoman Sudira said that until now the contribution of Benny Wenda, who declared a provisional government, was invisible to the people of Papua.

“So, so far, what has been the record that Beni Wenda has left for Papua that he feels he represents? In conflict resolution theory, one could be the first manufacturer. Losing this group is still a long way off. there are many steps to take, “I Nyoman said at a webinar entitled” Humanitarian and Security Approach to Papua “held by the Center for Humanitarian Studies and Development (PSKP), on Thursday (3/12).

He also questioned the interests of Benny Wenda and other separatist figures in Papua, including the form of government they wanted to build.

“I am still studying groups that want independence. If they are independent, what country do they want to establish, what kind of government do they want to form a government, what is their organizational structure like. Obviously not this. That is also a problem,” he said.

He said that there are many separatist groups in Papua, including in the ULMWP itself.

“Speaking of Benny Wenda, we are talking about ULMWP. Make no mistake, there are four ULMWP figures that can be called three great figures. They are Benny Wenda in London, Octavianus Mote in New York and Rex Rumakiek in Australia,” he said.

ULMWP, he said, its path of struggle is not local or national, but international.

“He is no longer fighting with the Indonesian government. His fight is in terms of what they have been doing to seek international support, at least providing support for their fight to secede from Indonesia,” I Nyoman said.
