The trial of the claims of PT Hanson International Commissioner Benny Tjokrosaputro was postponed by the judges of the Jakarta Corruption Court at the Jakarta Central District Court. The reason, Benny was confirmed positive for Corona (COVID-19).

This became known before the trial was opened at Jakarta Corruption Court, Jalan Bungur Besar Raya, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (9/24/2020). Benny Tjokro is currently being treated at Adhyaksa Hospital.

Chief Judge Rosmina confirmed Benny’s condition to one of the doctors who treated him at Adhyaksa Hospital. The judge asked the doctor virtually.

“Why was defendant Benny isolated at the hospital?” asked the judge.

“Because it was confirmed positive for COVID,” said the doctor.

The judge also postponed Benny Tjokro’s trial. Benny Tjokro’s trial was postponed indefinitely.

So we, after listening to the doctor’s explanation and after deliberation, it turns out that we stopped Benny at the AGO. However, with this explanation, the accused is currently in the hospital and confirmed by the COVID virus. Therefore, we believe that we cannot go to trial, therefore “We have violated human rights when we tried. And we ask the Public Ministry to immediately present a letter to be delivered so that we have a basis to deliver it, “said Judge Rosmina.

In addition to Benny Tjokro, PT Trada Alam Minera (Tram) President Commissioner Heru Hidayat is also being treated at Adhyaksa Hospital because he is positive for Corona. Heru’s trial was also postponed.

“So we have criticized the defendant Heru, which means that legally he is considered sick, so the sick certainly cannot participate in the trial. Therefore, for Brother Heru we declare that he cannot be included,” said the judge Rosmina.

The lawyers for Benny and Heru also sent a letter to the judging panel asking that they be treated at another hospital. Heru’s team of lawyers said that their client had a congenital disease, namely heart disease, for which she needed special treatment.

Currently, the panel of judges is still opening the trial. The prosecutor will read the demand letter of the case from the director of PT Máxima Integra, Joko Hartono Tirto.
