Bengkulu Governor Election List With Former Corruption Convicts

JAKARTA, KOMPASTV – Former corruption convict who also served as Bengkulu governor, Agusrin Maryono Najamudin, registered with his partner in the KPU to advance the Bengkulu governor and lieutenant governor elections.

Accompanied by a mass of supporters, Agusrin Maryono Najamudin and Imron Rosyadi registered with the Bengkulu Provincial Election Commission to advance the Bengkulu governor and deputy governor elections on Sunday afternoon.

Besides being known as the former governor of Bengkulu who was elected for two terms in 2005 and 2010, Agusrin is also known as an ex-convict for corruption.

He was caught in the corruption case of land and construction tax revenue sharing and land and building acquisition fees that cost the state 21 billion rupees and was sentenced to four years in prison in 2012.

Carried out by a coalition of Gerindra, PKB and Perindo, which has 12 seats in the Bengkulum provincial DPRD, the pair of candidates believe that they will pass the verification stage which is immediately carried out by the KPU.

The KPU, which received the registration from the Agusrin – Imron Rosyadi couple, confirmed that it would verify the nomination files with the task force team that had been formed.
