Basarnas received up to 45 body bags as a result of the joint team’s Day 3 search that took place today Monday (1/11). The search was carried out around the waters of the Thousand Islands, Jakarta or the crash site. Sriwijaya Air SJ 182, Last Saturday (1/9).

A report from the DVI Police Team at 5pm WIB, Monday (11/1), 53 DNA samples were received from the families of the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 passengers. The samples were received by the DVI team from various areas where the passenger’s family came from.
The victim’s family can provide various pieces of information to the DVI team to support the body identification process. These include ante-mortem or general data and data from the victim’s medical history.
The Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane that flew from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng to Pontianak, West Kalimantan, last Saturday (9/1), crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport, Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 carried a total of 62 people consisting of 50 passengers and 12 crew members. Up to 40 of the total passengers are adult passengers, seven of them are children and three are babies.
