jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Bareskrim Polri rejected the report prepared by the Minang Student Youth Association (PPMM) against the president of PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani.

The police assessed that the report did not meet the required elements.

“Our arrival was well received, we had a very tough discussion. In conclusion, our report did not meet the elements,” said PPMM Chief David at the Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Office on Friday (4/9) .

David did not object to the police rejecting his report because it was the duty of the police and, as a citizen, he only exercised his right to take legal action by filing a report.

“As citizens, our job is only to report. Whether it is prosecuted or not, that is the right of the police. We believe that the professional police agree with the promoter’s motto and are balanced by seeing this situation,” he said.

David said that even though in this report he had brought a number of pieces of evidence, such as a flash disk containing Puan’s voice recording from the YouTube sharing site, then online print media related to Puan’s statement that was deemed offensive to the people of West Sumatra and various other attachments.

“We have reviewed the articles, namely article 310 of the Penal Code, article 311 of the Penal Code, article 27, paragraph (3) of the ITE Law,” said David.

Meanwhile, PPMM’s lawyer Khoirul Amin said his party had long discussions with investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.
