Bahar Bin Smith, threatened with prison for 4 years

BANDUNG, KOMPAS.TV – Bahar Bin Smith was named a suspect according to a September 4, 2018 report with reporter named Adriansyah.

Bahar Bin Smith was suspected of articles 170 of the Penal Code and 351 of the Penal Code related to persecution and beatings with threat of imprisonment for more than 4 years.

This is known based on letter number B / 4094 / X / 2020 / Directorate General of Criminal Investigation of the West Java Regional Police issued in Bandung on October 21, 2020.

The Chief of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Erdi Chaniago, explained the chronology of the case.

In 2018, Bahar’s wife returned home at 23:00 WIB.

The wife was escorted by an online taxi driver, and that’s when a driver named Andriansyah was chased by Bahar.

Previously, Bahar was sentenced to 3 years in prison by a panel of judges at the Bandung District Court for the mistreatment of two teenagers.

Already in prison, Bahar was released on Saturday, May 16, 2020 for providing assimilation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After just three days of release, Bahar was again imprisoned for a preaching event attended by many people and it was found that he had violated the PSBB.
