DIY NEWS – The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs pointed out that the disbursement of productive assistance from the president (banpres) for microenterprises of IDR 2.4 million has reached 5.6 million microentrepreneurs affected by COVID-19 with a total assistance of IDR 13.4 trillions.
“This assistance has been distributed to 5.6 million micro-enterprise actors spread over 34 provinces with a total attendance of Rp. 13.4 billion,” said the Deputy for Financing of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Hanung Harimba Rachman Hospital, according to Antara reported on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
To accelerate the recovery of economic activity, Hanung expects that by the end of September 2020 up to 9.16 million microentrepreneurs will be able to receive the first phase of productive presidential assistance with a total budget of 22 trillion IDR.

Hanung said the assistance initiated by President Joko Widodo was prioritized for microenterprise actors who had not been able to access bank financing, making them vulnerable to stopping their businesses due to the pandemic.
Recipients of cash assistance worth Rs 2.4 crore, he said, will also be added again this year. From the initial stage, up to 9.1 million MSMEs, they increased to 12 million, and finally they proposed again to 15 million MSMEs.
“We see increased enthusiasm, so we suggest that the target recipient be increased to 15 million, maybe more,” he said.

Therefore, he hopes that the local government through their respective cooperatives and SME offices can help provide data on micro-entrepreneurs in the regions that are proposed for assistance.
