JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The electricity rate for 7 groups of PT PLN (Persero) customers officially fell today, Thursday (01/10/2020).
This is in accordance with the basic electricity tariff provisions issued by the government.
From October to December 2020, the electricity tariff for low-class customers has decreased by IDR 22.5 per kWh, to IDR 1444.7 per kWh, from the previous IDR 1467 per kWh.

PLN’s Executive Vice President of Communication and CSR, Agung Murdifi, said that with this decrease, the government and PLN want to provide more space for the economy of lower-class customers.
“This is so that they can use more electricity to support their economic activities and in their daily activities,” he said, in a written statement.
“Please enjoy this tariff reduction. And use PLN electricity comfortably and, of course, safely,” added Agung.
In line with Agung, the General Manager of PLN’s Jakarta Raya Main Distribution Unit, Doddy B Pangaribuan, hopes that the Rp 22.5 reduction in the tariff can ease the burden on the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic. .

“I think this is something that some people might consider in a pandemic condition. For us, we hope that it can slightly ease the economic burden during a pandemic,” he said.
Customers can enjoy a direct rate reduction, without having to use certain conditions.
The categories of electricity customers who can enjoy reduced electricity rates are as follows.
- R-1 TR 1.300VA
- R-1 TR 2200 VA
- R-2 TR 3500 VA hingga 5500 VA
- R-3 TR 6,600 VA
- B-2 TR 6,600 VA hingga 200 kVA
- P-1 TR 6600 VA sd 200 kVA
- P-3 / TR

Meanwhile, 450 VA home customers get a 100 percent discount (free) and 900 VA subsidized home customers get a 50 percent discount, which began in April 2020.
In addition, relief is also provided for Small Business 450 VA and Small Industry 450 VA customers at a 100 percent discount.
