KONTAN.CO.ID – WASHINGTON / WILMINGTON. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is slowly getting closer to beating Donald Trump on Thursday (11/5/2020) in the very tight US presidential election. On the other hand, Republican President Donald Trump is stepping up his legal efforts to sway the vote count and make new groundless claims of voter fraud.
Launching Reuters, Biden, the former vice president of the United States, led in Pennsylvania and Georgia while maintaining tight margins in Nevada and Arizona.
The extended vote count in various states is still going on two days after the close of voting. Meanwhile, protesters from both sides staged demonstrations in major cities over the counting of votes.
After a fierce campaign waged during the coronavirus pandemic, the US elections appear to be moving toward tense conclusions in the hours and possibly the next few days.

There is still a narrow path for Trump to win if he stays in Georgia, where he leads by 12,800 votes, and Pennsylvania, where he leads with 108,600 votes, and beats Biden in Arizona, where he trails 68,100, or Nevada, where he stayed behind the 11,400 votes.
However, many of the overwhelming votes in Georgia and Pennsylvania are expected to gravitate toward Democrats, such as the Atlanta and Philadelphia area.
Trump, who attacked the integrity of the US voting system during the campaign, again accused vote manipulation on Thursday without providing evidence. He also accused the Democrats of “stealing” the US elections.
