Leeds –
Mikel Arteta was unhappy with Arsenal’s performance when they were matched by Leeds United. However, seeing the Gunners’ situation in that game, Arteta was satisfied with one point.
Arsenal visited Elland Road on Sunday (11/22/2020) WIB night to score three points. Because, Arsenal are still stuck in the middle and have been having trouble looking good lately.
In the first half, Arsenal seemed unable to break through Leeds’ defense even though they had played a trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Willian. Crazy, Arsenal couldn’t get a single shot on goal during the first half.
At the start of the second half, Arsenal even lost Pepe, who was sent off after brushing past Ezgjan Alioski in a scoreless situation. Losing a player made it even more difficult for Arsenal to pursue victory.
Leeds seemed to have room to attack and came close to creating three goals, all of which were caught by the crossbar. Until the game ended, the scoreline lasted 0-0.
After the match, Arteta admitted that he was disappointed by the fact that his team did not achieve all the points. However, Arteta understands a point considering that Arsenal had to survive with 10 players during the second half, accepting the onslaught from Leeds.
“Seeing how we lost Pepe at the beginning of the second half, we have to accept this point. I never like a draw, but this is an important point considering the existing conditions. It is difficult to accept,” Arteta was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
“There were two periods in the first half. First, when we came off guard, we easily lost the ball and gave them room to attack. In the second half, more about how to defend well and be patient, to take advantage of the space they left.” he continued. Mikel Arteta.
Can only score one point, Arsenal are now stuck at 11th place with 13 points from nine games.
