April Jasmine, wife of Ustaz Soleh Mahmoed, reaped the pros and cons after uploading a TikTok video of her dancing on social media.
Many regretted the April action because she was the wife of an ustaz.
The wife received criticism, Ustaz Solmed intervened. He explained that there was nothing wrong with following the trend on social media as long as you obeyed the rules.
“Instagram Facebook, Tiktok, WA, Twitter are all media for gathering, streaming media, entertainment media, entertainment media which, if used correctly, is beneficial, of course, they all have rules,” he said. Ustaz Solmed explaining when they met him in Kebon Sirih Area, Saturday (3/4).
He then explained about the law of dance that had been established by scholars since time immemorial.
“Our previous scholars have discussed this and the law is permissible on a note that is not excessive, does not show genitalia, does not excite, excite people,” he explained.
“He became adamant that there were more provisions, in fact he became haram if, for example, his dancing was excessive. All of these have provisions,” said Ustaz Solmed again.

Ustaz Solmed also dares to be responsible and ensures that his wife’s dance moves in the video are still within reasonable limits.
“If I am, I can be responsible. God forbid, if in the eyes of scholars it is not mentioned, dancing is only allowed in the eyes of scholars,” he said.
