Annoying world! US and Saudi Arabia ‘broken’, King Salman rages at Biden

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States (USA) are on the edge. The two allies are arguing over the latest US reports and the sanctions imposed.

The government of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman, is “furious” over a US report that discriminates against Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman (MBS). The government of President Joe Biden has officially issued a report on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi and has called MBS his “brain.”

Khashoggi is a Saudi journalist corresponding to Washington Post and he often criticized the kingdom. US intelligence reports blame MBS for the journalist’s death in 2018. MBS reportedly approved of the murder.

“The government of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia completely rejects the negative, false and unacceptable judgments in the reports related to the leadership of the kingdom,” the Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement. AFP Friday (2/27/2021).

“(The Saudis) noted that the report contains inaccurate information and conclusions.”

The report said the prince approved the Istanbul operation to capture or kill Khashoggi. Since 2017, the crown prince has full control over royal operations, so Saudi officials are highly unlikely to conduct operations without the crown prince’s permission.

“It is regrettable that this report, with its unwarranted and inaccurate conclusions, has been issued while the kingdom clearly condemns this heinous crime, and the royal leadership is taking the necessary steps to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again,” the ministry said. .

“The Kingdom rejects any act that violates the leadership, sovereignty and independence of its judicial system.”

The report said that a 15-member team traveled to Istanbul from Arabia in October. They are all believed to have participated in the killings, although it is unclear whether the team knew their intended targets.

“The crown prince views Khashoggi as a threat to the kingdom and widely supports the use of force if necessary to silence him,” the report said.

Khashoggi, who wrote criticisms of the prince in The Washington Post, convinced the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul to finalize the marriage documents. His fiance denounced him as missing and was waiting for him in front of the diplomatic office because he did not show up for hours.
